"It has him screaming and laughing towards the sky, which I interpreted as a form of mocking God and religion itself." - MARVEL ART OF MARKO DJURDJEVIC
A common cover design element is the circle. A moon, a sun, a shield, a spotlight and the motion lines when Thor windmills his hammer are common variations on strengthening a layout with the addition of a circle. The ominous black sphere behind the Ghost Rider continues that tradition but what the heck is it? Djurdjevic reveals (again from MAoMD) "The graphic design in the background represents a huge Mayan black sun, which is just a method for me to show how dark the character is."
