Eight years ago today Marko Djurdjevic had three covers ship to the shops.

The covers for MYSTIC ARCANA: SCARLET WITCH, WORLD WAR HULK: GAMMA FILES and THUNDERBOLTS #116 brought his total up to 46 covers in the 48 weeks since Marvel recruited him to their ranks.

"I thrilled at reading the Hulk when I was a child, so totally connecting to his character. It's such a beautiful paradox when you think about how he is so strong - the strongest there is, so strong you cannot stop him -  while at the same time he is unable to find a friend. The lesson underpinning his character seemed to be that no matter how mighty you are, it doesn' t automatically make for a better life." - Marko Djurdjevic (from MARVEL ART OF MARKO DJURDJEVIC)

In MAoMD Djurdjevic shares many more insights in the reasoning behind his artistic choices in bringing Marvel's larger-than-life icon to life. Of course there are many preliminary sketches of the figure work along with both used and unused layouts.
