Four years ago today Marko Djurdjevic had two new covers ship to the shops for the 22nd time.
For the third time in six weeks he was tasked with altering a classic cover by adding pointy ears and Skrull chins. This time John Buscema's cover art for AVENGERS #57 was the one to be Skrullified.
Djurdjevic's cover for GHOST RIDER #23 was a headshot of the title character. It isn't difficult for an artist to make a flaming skull look dramatic but like a Kubert or Ditko he manages to get the most out of the simple composition.
By March 1965 the Enchantress had graced 25% of the AVENGERS covers.

All except one were drawn by Jack Kirby.
