IN YOUR LCS 12 YEARS AGO TODAY

Four years ago today Marko Djurdjevic extended his streak of X-MEN FIRST CLASS covers to four.  This was the first time that he had new covers released two weeks in a row. This increased his presence on the racks from two covers a month to three covers in two weeks.
This was also the first time Djurdjevic depicted Doctor Strange.

A preliminary sketch for this cover is in THE MARVEL ART OF MARKO DJURDJEVIC. It's basically the same layout. Small changes such as having Marvel Girl and Cyclops leaning backwards at a more precarious angle and repositioning Strange's left arm reveals Djurdjevic's talent for strengthening a solid design. The abstract elements at the bottom of the cover are not a part of the sketch but the mountains in the background are, represented by a few simple lines.
